Tasting Note
To the eye, it has straw yellow color with golden reflections. To the nose: a complex combination of fruity aromas such as peach, pear and litchi with aromatic elegant herbal notes. When you taste it, it is nice and creamy with certain volume. After tasting it, you will appreciate fresh and fruity notes turning it into a gourmet and complex wine.
Gastronomic wine with a distinctive voice and identity. The combination of the autocton white and black picapoll grape makes it a unique wine, which encompasses the structure of the black grape with the freshness of the white grape.
Ideal for a tasteful apero, particularly for those, who like a bit of wooden taste. It can be paired with a paella or light tasting fish meal.
About the winery...
Heretat Oller del Mas is a family vineyard with over 1000 years of tradition, located 60km North from Barcelona, at the outskirts of Manresa. The Mas (farm in Catalan) is run by Fran Margenat and counts with the prestigious winemaker in Catalonia, Carles Muray. Both of them make the most of the soil and the available natural resources, always respecting the environment, to innovate, experiment and create outstanding wines, olive oil, vinegar and vermouth.
Restored from 1981 until 2008, its heirs revamped the vineyards that surround the historical castle with a clear objective: obtain distinctive organic wines with an extraordinary quality, always respecting the surrounding nature. Heretat Oller del Mas covers 500Hc, but only 10% is being planted with 12 grape varieties: 8 red types and 4 white types. Most of the production (4'000kg/hc) is collected by hand and the production reaches 120'000 bottles per year (2018).
It enjoys a unique continental microclimate, Montserrat mountain protects the fields from the humid wind coming from the Mediterranean, which implies extreme temperatures both in summer and winter.
Composed by 15 family vineyards (in 2020) that surround the city of Manresa, most of them produce their wine with the grapes out of their own fields, using traditional methods inherited generation after generation. During XIX century, it was the county in Catalonia with the highest number of vineyards. It's privileged with several microclimates in the area according to the height (300-360m) and disposition of the land with respect to the sea and surrounding mountains (Montserrat and National Park of Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac).
